Features

Version 1.1 finds your apps, searches and launches them, runs and closes groups, and imports and exports themes. A theme editor is planned.

Launch groups

  • Build named groups of apps and start the whole group with one button.
  • Set the launch order and an optional delay before each app.
  • Give each app its own arguments and working folder inside a group.
  • Close every app in a group again with one action.

Find and add apps

  • Finds the apps installed on Windows, macOS and Linux.
  • Add any program, script or web link by hand: type its path or choose it with Browse.
  • Before it runs something you added yourself, or an app with arguments you set, Muster shows the exact command and asks you first.

Out of your way

  • Keyboard first: type to search, Enter to launch.
  • Press a hotkey of your choice from anywhere to open a small launcher window.
  • Give a group its own hotkey to start all of its apps at once.
  • Lives in the tray or menu bar; optional start on login.
  • Uses close to no CPU while idle. Closing the window frees its memory.

Themes

  • Light, dark, or follow your system.
  • Presets: Nord, Gruvbox, Catppuccin, Solarized, High Contrast, Vainnor, Vainnor Ember and Prism.
  • Preview a theme live, and import or export themes as files.
  • Warns you when a theme's text would be hard to read.

Private by design

  • No telemetry, analytics or account.
  • Works offline. The only network request is the update check: when you press the button, or at startup if you turn that on. Updates install from Settings and restart Muster.
  • Your settings stay in a file on your computer.
